Every big dream begins somewhere small. Ours began in the camera of an ordinary mobile phone, inside a room no bigger than a hundred and fifty square feet.
April 9, 2021 — Where It All Started
On the ninth of April, 2021, FuturePlus Academy was born as a simple tuition initiative for students. There was no studio, no expensive equipment, no team of hundreds. There was a phone camera propped up against a stack of books, a whiteboard, a handful of students on the other side of a screen, and one stubborn belief — that quality learning should reach every student, no matter where they live or what they can afford.
What we were attempting had not really been done before in Kerala, not at that scale and not with that intent. We were building one of the state's first genuine distance-learning platforms, designed for students who could not always reach a classroom but who could always reach for a better future. A homemaker in a village with no coaching centre for forty kilometres. A young man working double shifts who could only study at midnight. A student whose family could not afford to send them to a city. These were the people we built for, and they are the people who built us.
The Years That Followed
What started as an experiment quickly became a movement, and the recognition followed.
FuturePlus Academy was recognised under both the Startup India and Startup Kerala initiatives, and went on to earn ISO Certification for its quality standards and internal processes. Reporter Channel featured the academy among Kerala's promising young businesses, and Akashvani profiled our journey as a Best Success Business story.
Awards were never the point. But they were proof — proof that a dream powered by sincerity can stand shoulder to shoulder with dreams powered by capital.
Where We Stand Today
Five years on, the story has grown well beyond that first small room. FuturePlus Academy today operates eleven branches across Kerala, and more than fifty thousand students have been part of the FuturePlus family. Our learning happens both ways — in physical classrooms at our branches, and fully online for students who need the flexibility.
Fifty thousand students. Fifty thousand families. Fifty thousand separate dreams that trusted us with a part of their journey. That number is not a statistic to us. It is the whole point.
Uyare 2K26 — Kerala's Biggest Distance Education and Skill Convocation
And now comes the day that celebrates all of it.
Uyare 2K26, presented by FuturePlus Academy together with FuturePlus SkillMate, is Kerala's biggest Distance Education and Skill Convocation and Students Meet. It takes place on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Calicut Tower, Kozhikode. This is Season 2 of Uyare, and it is bigger than the first in every way.
Announced at the Calicut Press Club
The event was formally announced to the media at a press meet held at the Calicut Press Club on September 18, 2026. Addressing the gathering, Prashobh Kayakkalakath, CEO of FuturePlus Academy, Nackash Muhammed, COO, and Hashim Neeladan, Academic Head, laid out what the day would hold.
Their message was straightforward. This is a stage built to honour the students who achieved success through distance education and skill development programmes — students whose hard work often goes unseen precisely because it happened at a distance. The day will be built around convocation ceremonies, student felicitations and motivational sessions, and the celebrated actress Srinda will attend as special guest.
Walk the Stage
For thousands of our students, learning happened entirely through a screen. At home, at work, between shifts, across districts and in several cases across countries. There was no campus to walk through, no classmates in the next seat, no graduation day to look forward to.
Uyare 2K26 is the day that changes. This is when the journey becomes physical — the cap, the gown, the stage, the certificate placed in your hand, and your name called out loud in front of the people who believed in you when it was only a plan. If you have ever wondered whether anyone noticed the effort, this is the day you find out that we did.
The Guests on Stage
Uyare 2K26 brings together voices from politics, academics, industry and the arts, all in one hall, all there for the same reason.
Adv. K. Jayanth, MLA of Kozhikode North, joins us as a dignitary of the day. From the world of higher education comes Adv. Shabeeb Ali, National Head of Vivekananda University. Representing industry and the skilling sector, we welcome Fahad Muhammed Venghat, COO of FIA's SkillX, and Anjani Ajeesh from Chanakya Business School.
The celebration side of the day is in equally good hands. Actress Srinda attends as our special guest. Sanal Paadikkanam, known to audiences as Mentalist SKP, will bring his extraordinary act to the stage. And anchoring the entire programme is Gibiya, who will carry the day from the first speech to the final curtain.
Educators, industry leaders, a film star and a mentalist in a single afternoon — the day has been designed to inform and to genuinely entertain.
The People Behind FuturePlus
Uyare 2K26 is also a day for the team that made fifty thousand student journeys possible.
Leading the academy are Prashobh Kayakkalakath, Chief Executive Officer, Nackash Muhammed, Chief Operating Officer, and Hashim Neeladan, Academic Head. On the SkillMate side, partners Aravindh K and Hithesh K drive the skill development arm that gives our students job-ready capability alongside their qualifications.
And then there are the branch heads — the people who open the doors every morning and know their students by name. Mahesh K. R leads our Kannur branch and Anees heads Kochi. Sharon T runs Thrissur, while Priju looks after Wayanad. Abhiram JR and Nandaj Krishna lead the Vadakara branch, and Muzammil and Shahla T. K head Pattambi.
Eleven branches do not run themselves. They run because of these people.
Gifts for Everyone Who Attends
No one goes home empty-handed. Every single person who participates in Uyare 2K26 receives a surprise gift — no draws, no conditions, just a thank-you from us to you.
Beyond that, one lucky student will walk away with a 32-inch television, awarded by lucky draw on the day itself. As the posters put it: Convocation-ൽ പങ്കെടുക്കൂ… TV സ്വന്തമാക്കൂ! Take part in the convocation, and take home a TV.
Who Can Join
Every FuturePlus student is invited — past and present, offline and online, from every branch and every course. If you have studied with us, this stage belongs to you as much as it belongs to anyone on it.
"We are going to see your dreams — and help make them come true."
That is not a marketing line. It is the same promise that was made in a hundred and fifty square foot room in 2021, repeated now to a much larger room.
A Word of Thanks
Uyare 2K26 is made possible by FuturePlus Academy and FuturePlus SkillMate, and by every sponsor, partner, teacher, parent and student who chose to believe in this journey when there was very little evidence to justify believing in it. Thank you. This stage belongs to all of you.
